It is with great sadness that we inform you that our esteemed colleague, Ron Kerslake, sadly passed away on Tuesday 10 November 2015.
Ron started his working life in the Wills and Probate Department of a bank, where he stayed for many years before moving to local solicitors’ firms. Many clients will know him from his time at Harris Cartier (also known as Harris Cartwright) before he joined us at Kidd Rapinet in Slough. Ron was an extremely professional and down to earth individual, who was thought of highly by his colleagues and clients alike.
You always knew when Ron had entered the room. He had a wonderful presence and a huge smile. People loved talking to him since he was always happy and positive, no matter what the circumstances. Ron was gregarious, a true gentleman and a selfless individual. Ron’s door was always open and nothing was ever too much trouble for him. He thrived on helping others, regardless of their colour, religion or background, and he loved the fact he could help people in their time of need. Ron was an exceptional listener, who had a great sense of understanding and gave invaluable advice.
Ron also worked voluntarily for the Salvation Army and was well respected within the organisation. In true Ron style, he gave up every Christmas Day to take those alone at Christmas to the Salvation Army to enjoy a Christmas dinner with others, and then he would take them home again. Ron was also excited when he learnt a few years ago that he was to become a member of the emergency team of the Salvation Army. This meant that he could be called upon at any time of the day or night to drive and help out on the portable canteen which fed the fire crews and other support staff in cases of an emergency. As if that wasn’t enough, Ron also founded The Kenya Trust to build schools for the children of Kenya and provide water stations for all.
Ron was a very caring, compassionate and thoughtful person. However, he will be remembered by most for his great sense of humour and his ability to make people laugh!
Above all else, Ron was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He has a wonderful family, and it is them that our deepest sympathy and thoughts are with.
