Catherine Banks

Partner,

I qualified as a solicitor in 1986 and joined Kidd Rapinet as a partner in 2004. I am a family law solicitor dealing with divorce, civil partnerships and co-habitees and the financial issues which arise as a result of relationship breakdown. I advise on and act in cases involving a wide range of assets including businesses, trusts and overseas property. I acted in JL v SL (No2) [2013] 1FLR 120 and JL v SL (No 3) [2015 2 FLR 1220 a leading case on pre and post-acquired assets, inheritances and capitalisation of income. I also advise upon and draft pre and post-nuptial and separation agreements. My field of specialisation includes private disputes about children and I have considerable experience dealing with cases of child abduction. By advising clearly and acting firmly I aim to resolve matters for my clients by agreement, if possible.
