Gooch heads the Immigration Department at Kidd Rapinet. He joined Kidd Rapinet in 2003 as part of the merger with Pullig & Co, where he had worked in the Immigration Team.
Gooch has been a member of the Immigration Law Practitioners Association (ILPA) for more than 15 years and he has lectured and delivered seminars on Immigration law and practice and nationality and citizenship law, to solicitors, practitioners and advisers. He was also a regular tutor on Immigration and Nationality Law for Citizens Advice Bureau staff and volunteers. Additionally, he is multilingual, being a fluent Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu speaker.
After more than 15 years’ worth of experience in all aspects of Immigration Law and practice, Gooch has developed a very diverse global client base ranging from business and corporate clients to private individuals and their families. He has recently acted for a prominent professional football club chairman, the partner and children of an International professional footballer and a range of small and medium sized businesses from start-ups to established companies
He specialises in all types of Immigration and Nationality matters ranging from business immigration and including:
- Tier 1 Investor and Entrepreneur applications
- Applications under Tiers 2, 4 and 5 of the Points Based System Scheme
- Sponsor Licence applications, audits and the prevention of fines and penalties for unlawful employment of migrant workers
At Kidd Rapinet, Gooch has led the Immigration team to a 100% success rate with its Tier 1 Entrepreneur and Tier 1 Investor applications as well as its Tier 2 and Tier 5 Sponsor Licence applications.
In addition, Gooch handles non-points based matters including:
- Family settlement
- Entry clearances
- Leave to remain applications for partners and children
- Applications for EEA family members
- Applications under the EC Association Agreement with Turkey
- British Citizenship
He has considerable experience of appeals to the First-tier and Upper Tribunals against refusal decisions and enjoys an extremely high success rate. He has assisted in numerous successful challenges to adverse decisions by way of applications for Judicial Review and just recently he was successful in obtaining permission to seek a Judicial Review on behalf of a large business on the revocation of its Sponsorship Licence.
Outside of work, Gooch’s interests include Punjabi folk music, and playing and watching football – he follows the fortunes, and for the most part the misfortunes, of Leicester City Football Club.
