Preparing for your first meeting

When you need immigration advice quickly, it helps to come prepared.  We recommend bringing the following information to your initial consultation:

  • Documents relating to citizenship: current passport, current visa, birth certificate/s for children, marriage/civil partnership certificate, certificate of incorporation for a company, business bank statements.

To instruct us, we would require the following:

  • For the company, partnership or trust which is to be our client: Certificate of incorporation (where applicable) showing the current name of the entity and Memorandum and Articles of Association, Partnership Agreement, LLP Agreement, Trust Deed or other constitutional document.
  • For each of the natural persons instructing us on its behalf and each beneficiary (meaning a shareholder or ultimate beneficial owner, partner or trust beneficiary who has an interest of 25% or more, or who has or exercises control): Documentary confirmation of that person’s status on behalf of the client, e.g. directorship, partnership, trusteeship, power of attorney plus the evidence for individuals below.
