What is the Youth Mobility Visa in the UK?
The Youth Mobility Visa is designed for young professionals aged 18-30 (or 18-35 for some countries), to live and work in the UK for up to two years (or 3 years for some nationalities). It is designed to encourage cultural exchange and work experience opportunities.

Key Requirements
Maintenance
You must be able to demonstrate that you have saving of £2,530 to support yourself. These savings must have been held by you for at least 28 days leading up to the submission of your application
Age
You must be within the specified age range for the age limit applicable to your country of nationality.
Evidence Required:
Documents needed will vary from each person’s circumstances and country of nationality but generally you must provide evidence to show your identity, age and maintenance.

Important Considerations
Whilst the Youth Mobility Visa offers a wide range of benefits and allows an individual to gain international work experience, it does have some limitations which require careful consideration. These are as follows:
- You cannot access public funds whilst in the UK
- You cannot work as a professional sportsperson
- You cannot extend the visa (with some exceptions)
- Any dependent family members are unable to apply with you
