A Property and Financial Affairs LPA gives your nominated Attorneys the power to manage your property and financial affairs on your behalf.  With your permission, it can be used as soon as it has been registered, so it is crucial that you understand the powers you are granting, and control these to suit your needs. These may vary from managing your bank account and paying bills to running your business or selling your home.

A Health and Welfare LPA gives your Attorneys the power to take decisions relating to your health and wellbeing. It can only be used when you are unable to do this for yourself. Decisions may include your daily routine, on-going and life-sustaining medical care, and moving into a care home.

Both forms of LPAs enable you to put your future care in the hands of people you trust who understand your wishes, should ill health prevent you from taking action yourself.
